The lounge short has a narrow, double layered folded waistband with no elastic to ensure it doesn't dig in. I was so excited for these! When they came, they just fit me weird. I ordered my normal size but felt like I should have sized down? I have a short torso as well and still a little bit of a mom pooch which didn’t look too flattering in these :( I was sad but returned them and got the other shorts instead which became my favorite!

I have denim in these and love these to lounge at home or sleep in. I bought a small and they fit perfectly and so stretchy even an xs probably would have been perfect!

I am really glad I got these shorts. I didn't want them as lounge wear. I wanted to work out in them and was hesitant for so long because I wasn't sure how different the design was from the other bare shorts that aren't categorized as "lounge". Well, these are amazing. The shorter inseam is actually very flattering for the shape of my legs, and the waistband is so soft and forgiving -- no muffin top or compression at all! I consider these TTS. I have a 30" waist and 37" hips and the medium was very comfortable on me.
